About Road Ready Books

Short answer: Road Ready Books was started by Jordan Sanders, a leased owner-operator who drives full-time. He got his own books clean and current, saw that the drivers around him had the same problem, and built the process into a service for leased owner-operators.

Why this exists

Leased owner-operators get paid on a settlement sheet, not an invoice, and most bookkeeping isn't built for that. The usual result: deposits recorded at net, income that doesn't match the 1099, escrow buried in expenses, card payments counted twice, and a truck loan that never seems to go down on paper. The result is a driver who knows his weekly deposit but not what he actually kept, what a mile really costs, or whether this month beat last month. And when he decides to finance a truck, all of it has to be fixed at once.

Jordan found that out with his own books. Fixing them took a method: reconcile every account to its statements, split every settlement line by line, tie the year to the carrier's 1099, and write down the explanations a lender will want. That method is what Road Ready Books does for every client.

What we promise

What we don't do

We're bookkeepers, not a CPA firm. We don't prepare tax returns or give tax, legal or loan advice. We hand your tax preparer clean books and a list of questions, and we hand lenders clean numbers when you ask us to.
